ACS Appl. Electron. Mater.: Optical Second-Harmonic Polarimetry on Hf0.5Zr0.5O2/La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 Interfaces

11 Maggio 2022 Admin_Tweet_2020 0

The interface-induced second-harmonic generation from ferroelectric hafnium–zirconium oxide (Hf0.5Zr0.5O2) epitaxial thin films, buffered with a La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 bottom electrode, is analyzed as a function of input and […]

Nature: Evidence for a single-layer van der Waals multiferroic

24 Febbraio 2022 Admin_Tweet_2020 0

Multiferroic materials have attracted wide interest because of their exceptional static and dynamical magnetoelectric properties. In particular, type-II multiferroics exhibit an inversion-symmetry-breaking magnetic order that directly induces […]

Nature Electronics: Room-temperature ferroelectric switching of spin-to-charge conversion in germanium telluride

30 Ottobre 2021 Admin_Tweet_2020 0

The development of spintronic devices has been limited by the poor compatibility between semiconductors and ferromagnetic sources of spin. The broken inversion symmetry of some […]

Epitaxy and controlled oxidation of chromium ultrathin films on ferroelectric BaTiO3 templates

1 Aprile 2021 Admin_Tweet_2020 0

Interfaces play a crucial role in the study of novel phenomena emerging at heterostructures comprising metals and functional oxides. In this work, we consider Cr/BaTiO3 heterostructures […]

Size-Controlled Spalling of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 Micromembranes

16 Marzo 2021 Admin_Tweet_2020 0

The ability to form freestanding oxide membranes of nanoscale thickness is of great interest for enabling material functionality and for integrating oxides in flexible electronic […]

Half-metallic ferromagnetism in layered CdOHCl induced by hole doping

28 Febbraio 2021 Admin_Tweet_2020 0

Abstract Next-generation spintronic devices will benefit from low-dimensionality, ferromagnetism, and half–metallicity, possibly controlled by electric fields. We find these technologically–appealing features to be combined with […]

The project

Inspired by the global thrust towards miniaturization and by the ubiquitous research in 2D-materials, TWEET promises disruptive advances in ferroelectricity towards the 2D-limit. By targeting the delivery of technological impact via fundamental understanding and materials optimization, our goal will be to achieve full control of ferroelectricity in few-layers films of CMOS-compatible materials. TWEET is conceived in two pillars...
